The Chinese Academy of Sciences has organized a serial scientific event with the theme of “Science and China Approaching Greater Bay Area”. Next Monday, in the name of this serial event, we are honored to invite Prof. Zongben XU, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to give us a lecture about the new generation of information technology at our university. Abstract 讲座摘要

人类社会、物理世界、信息空间构成当今三元世界。这三元世界中彼此间的关联与交互作用决定了社会发展的信息化特征。感知人类社会和物理世界的基本方式是数字化，联结人类社会与物理世界（通过信息空间）的基本方式是网络化，信息空间作用于物理世界与人类社会的方式是智能化。数字化、网络化、智能化是新一代信息技术的核心，它们分别以大数据技术、互联网技术、人工智能技术为代表。本报告概要介绍数字化、网络化和智能化的技术原理、基本问题与发展趋势。

The fundamental way to perceive human society and the physical world is digitization, the fundamental way to link human society and the physical world through cyberspace is networking, and the way cyberspace acts on the physical world and human society is intelligence. Digitization, networking, and intelligence are the core of the new generation of information technology. The key technologies generated by them are big data technology, internet technology, and artificial intelligence technology, respectively. This lecture provides an overview of the technical principles, fundamental problems, and development trends of digitization, networking, and intelligence.

Biography 嘉宾介绍

徐宗本教授，中国科学院院士，数学家、信号与信息处理专家、西安交通大学教授。从事应用数学、智能信息处理、机器学习、数据建模基础理论研究。曾任西安交通大学副校长，现任人工智能与数字经济广东省实验室主任。

Prof. Zongben XU is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a mathematician, an expert in signal and information processing, and a professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University. He is engaged in basic theory research on applied mathematics, intelligent information processing, machine learning, and data modeling. He was the Vice President of Xi'an Jiaotong University and is currently the Director of the Guangdong Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Laboratory.
