为做好2024年度广州市-香港科技大学（广州）市校联合资助项目的征集遴选工作，科研处将于2023年3月28日（星期二）下午14:00-15:00在演讲厅C召开项目启动会，欢迎各位教授及枢纽学域科研事务对接人出席。

To better prepare the proposal collection and selection of the 2024 Guangzhou-HKUST(GZ) Joint Funding Scheme, the Research Department arranged an initiation meeting on March 28, 2023 (Tuesday) from 14:00 to 15:00 in Lecture Hall C, to brief you on the project details. Faculty and research affairs admins interested in this project are very welcome to attend the meeting.

2. 科研处总结2023年度项目执行情况；
3. 科研处介绍2024年度项目具体安排，包括支持项目类型、支持金额、支持立项数量等，发布预申报通知；
4. 倪明选校长动员讲话；
5. 问答环节。

1. Prof. Kaishun WU, the Associate Vice President (Research), starts the meeting and introduces the background information of the project.
2. The Research Department reports the performance of the 2023 Joint Funding Scheme.
3. The Research Department introduces the arrangements for the 2024 Joint Funding Scheme, including supported project types, funding amount, and the number of projects to be sponsored, and releases the Preliminary Call for Proposal.
4. Prof. Lionel NI gives a pep talk.
5. Q&A session.

项目简介 Synopsis of the Scheme

市校联合资助项目是由广州市科技局、广州南沙开发区管委会、香港科技大学（广州）三方共同出资设立，目的是为了支持和强化基础与应用基础研究，以自由探索研究为基础，培育有组织科研。项目类型包括基础与应用基础研究项目、市重点实验室建设项目。项目纳入全过程管理简政放权改革试点，由我校自行组织项目评审及推荐，落实项目过程管理。

This funding scheme is a Municipality-University Joint Funding Scheme sponsored by GZ-STB, the Nansha Government, and HKUST(GZ) to support and strengthen basic and applied basic research and foster organized research based on free exploration. The project types include basic and applied basic research projects and municipal key laboratory construction projects. As the reform pilot unit that simplifies administrative procedures and yields power in the whole process of project management, HKUST(GZ) is responsible for project review, selection, and recommendation.
