Synopsis of the Call
The Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau released the call for topics announcement for the Guangdong and Guangzhou collaborative fund scheme 2023 on January 4th. This call for proposed topics announcement focuses on the Major Project and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Research Team Project of the scheme, which includes six research areas, and some of them may suit our faculty members.
Institutional Quota
No more than 9 topics (maximum 3 topics for each area)
With internal review, the most appropriate topics will be submitted to the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province if the proposed topics exceed the quotas.
Submission
Faculty members who are interested should fill in the <省市联合基金项目申报指南建议征集表> and submit it to the Research Department by the internal deadline. After the internal review, applicants should submit the proposal on the system (省科技业务管理阳光政务平台).

The Guideline of the 2022 Guangdong and Guangzhou Collaborative Funding Scheme
1. For Major Projects: These projects focus on carrying out in-depth and systematic innovative research on directions or growth points of disciplines that have a good foundation. And they mainly support applied basic research to promote the development of disciplines, and to make breakthroughs in major scientific problems related to regional and industrial development. Meanwhile, the principal investigators (PIs) should have experience in hosting research projects of provincial/ministry-level or above, or municipal-level S&T key research projects.
2. For Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Research Team Project: This project focuses on supporting researchers from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao in forming joint teams to carry out cutting-edge basic and applied basic research. Meanwhile, PIs should have experience in hosting research projects at the provincial/ministry level or above.
