This workshop mainly focuses on the content structure and writing skills of research proposals for basic and applied basic research projects, which will help the project applicants better understand the requirements and expectations from the perspective of reviewers and funding agencies.

We are honored to invite Prof. Guoquan GAO, the Associate Director of the Department of Precision Medicine and the former Association Dean of the Medical School of Sun Yat-sen University. For more information about Prof. GAO, please refer to the attachment.

We strongly recommend that the faculties preparing for the 2023 Guangzhou-HKUST(GZ) Joint Funding Scheme join the workshop. All faculties who are interested in basic and applied basic research projects are welcome to join.

Workshop content:

1. The latest information about basic and applied basic research projects at national, provincial, and municipal levels;
2. Frequent questions on the preparation of project application materials and project application procedures;
3. Skills for writing project proposals and feasibility reports;
4. General principles and procedures for assessment of the submitted project applications;
5. Other common problems regarding the project application.
